Orange Zest
Details
Orange peel zest is the high oil outer peel of the orange, without the bitter white section. Try adding this dried orange zest to breads, cookies, pies, and other desserts. Orange peel can be added to rice for extra flavor, or used to spice up hot or iced tea.Dehydrated orange zest has a concentrated flavor, so you only need add a third of what your recipe calls for in fresh peel. To rehydrate, add three parts water to one part peel and let stand 15 minutes. We recommend these grated orange peel zest granules be kept in an air-tight jar. The essential oil content, which gives it such a strong flavor, is so high that it will actually degrade a plastic bag in a matter of hours. Ingredients: Orange peel.

Orange Zest
The orange scones I make require 3 tablespoons orange zest in dough and 2 teaspoons in glaze. I used this product rehydrated in orange juice for the dough and used half fresh and half this product rehydrated in orange juice for the glaze. This product is the closest to fresh zest that I have found. I think rehydrating it in orange juice improves the flavor compared to rehydrating in water. I plan to still use some fresh orange zest in the scones but in a pinch I would not hesitate to use this as a substitute for fresh. To maintain best quality it needs to be refrigerated after opening. Very pleased with this product.
Great
I mix a jar with a pound of ground coffee and a smidgeon of cinnamon. Ooh la-la!!
I ordered orange zest to add to my tea brewing basket, and now always add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon.
