A while ago I had read somewhere that the Himalayan salt is healthier than regular salt. If true, this is HUGE for people trying to lower their salt intake and would be a great marketing point.

Good question, it depends on the salt you’re already using. The short answer is yes, you can use the same amount.
This all comes down to particle size. Since fine ground pink salt has smaller grains than a salt like Kosher salt, fine Himalayan salt will technically add up to more salt since there is less air space between salt grains. This size difference will have little effect on home recipes, but you can always use a pinch less to start out with.
Does 1 teaspoon of this salt measure the same as regular salt or do you use less or need to add more?
